September 18, 2007

“The famous saudade of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness.”

September 12, 2007

Via Awesome Tapes from Africa (again) this is from a cassette unearthed at a Ghanaian marketplace - no word on the date but one would guess the late 80’s. I’m trying to get the whole thing, but here’s Moma Yendodo for now.
